My vicar saw me earlier this year to pray with me about my former porn addiction and m problem.  The vicar has been very supportive but he didn't appear to want to be involved in any further accountability. There was another church leader present on the same occasion (which I had agreed to). He appeared to me to be disgusted and not to want to hear what I had to say. It's not an easy topic to talk about and I expect it embarrassed him.

Unfortunately, pastoral people are generally already so overwhelmed with stuff they have to and need to do, that having to remember one more thing is a chore.  I have found that if I take the initiative to ask for an appointment, our leader is always willing to sit down with me for a while.  And, I think it's pretty likely that the guy who was "disgusted" by it probably has his own secret wars, if not with porn, then some other hidden devil...

Thanks, Gaylon.  You're right - church leaders have heavy schedules and can't see individuals on a regular basis (in larger churches).
