A friend of mine asked this on facebook, and I thought it was a really good question. I actually can't think of something good to say, all of my friends friends have really good answers and the best thing I can think of is "Knowing everything I have given up was worth it", but I just can't find the right words.

Sooo what would you like most about Heaven?

That could be quite a list, but these are the ones that come most readily to mind.
Meeting the One who loves me so much that He died for me
Knowing that there is no more suffering
Being freed from the frailties of human existence (illness, disability, etc.)
Experiencing the perfect wonders of creation without the curse of sin
Singing His praises in perfect pitch and harmony

The fact that I wasn't condemned to eternal suffering and damnation.  That would be #1 on my list.

Truthseeker hit most of the things I think are best applicable.  We won't have to live in the presence of sin and its effects.  We will finally get to meet the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit face-to-face so to speak.  We will be in the presence of the Almighty and sing praises unto Him for all that He has done for us.

Is there something wrong with me if seeing and being with Jesus isn't one of the first things that come to mind? I know it shows a real lack of faith, just wanting my struggles to end.

I don't think it means there is something wrong with you. What are some of the first things that come to mind?

For me, I could say rest, peace, freedom...but I have come to learn that all of the things that I would consider ecstasy are found in one place...Jesus. Wanting those other things specifically really are a hunger for the real thing, which is found in Jesus himself.

wow, some really great answers here. i agree with all of them. however, i also want to throw in 2 of my own: first, seeing my family members that have passed on before me that are there. sadly, i am worried that my dad's face will not be amongst them. i can't tell you how utterly heart broken that makes me feel. i keep telling myself that it is as simple as asking for forgiveness even in his last breath, but if i only knew. the other thing is sorta comical; no worries about what a piece of cheesecake will do to my rear-end. i think that pops into mind because i saw a movie once about some ppl going to heaven and they could eat all the food they wanted without ever gaining a pound. i say "yay!" to no more counting calories and fat! whoo-hoo!

bradley, i'm not sure if you meant that you thought of your struggles ending when you get to heaven. if so, that was a thought of mine too. i think it is quite typical for us to feel that way. no matter what first popped into mind, there are no right and wrong answers here. dude, you are on a journey and with time, your faith will grow. besides, god says that it only takes faith the size of an itty bitty mustard seed to move mountains. your being a part of this website, seeking healing and godly counsel shows that you indeed have a stronger faith than you prob even realize. be blessed my young brother!
