I have been listening to you guys for a few months now, and I really think that you all are doing amazing things to allow Christ to be seen and loved by people who really need him. I praise God for people (such as you all) who are magnifying the grace of Christ as you encourage people to seek purity and freedom in their hearts.
I have had some discussions with my accountability partner about objectifying women. I have heard some men in my accountability group discussing this as they mention some of their weaknesses. I understand that the basic idea of it is that as men, we are looking at women as objects (failing to observe that they are creations of God, failing to see that they may be loved by another man, and we are looking at them for our visual pleasure). It is clear that this is a sin in the heart, as Christ says in Matthew 5:27 that if we have lusted for a women we have committed adultery.
I feel a bit deficient in defenses against this temptation. Has anyone read any literature that provides any input as to this issue? I think that this is a real heart issue for a lot of men (and probably some women as well).
Would love to hear some input from you guys and from the readers of this forum.
