As some of you know, I've been away from the Blazing Grace ministry since January.
Mid-January, I was diagnosed with bi-polar depression, and have been struggling since then. I'd like to ask for prayer for God's healing and for strength and wisdom. It's been a hard battle with the medication somewhat pulling me down, and in other areas as well.
thanks,
Mike Genung

Dear Mike, I'm sorry to hear you've not been well. Bi-polar disorder is not a pleasant thing I know. Will pray, of course.

Mike, it's so good to hear from you! I prayed more, admittedly, as the transition was in progress, but have prayed for you from time to time since then.
The great thing about not knowing what Paul's thorn in the flesh was, is that we can all be encouraged by his encouragement and exortation that God's grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in weakness. Be assured that in all these struggles, no matter how far God may have seemed, or still seems, that never once have you been out of His loving hands. Remember that the single set of footprints is when He is carrying you.
God bless and undergird you.

I really needed to read your post, Truthseeker. Much of what you wrote is accurate to what I'm experiencing. There has been a struggle in the area of "how does God see me" after some of the pits I've been through (and still am) in. Thank you for that word of encouragement.
Good to hear from you, guitarist.

Hi Mike,
His grace blazes, no matter where we are. Remember that it was pit(s) that led you to found this ministry, so you have prior experience with pits, and with God's power to raise you from them.
Thankfully, God has given us examples of those who have come before us who have experienced pits, such as David, who wrote about many struggles in the Psalms. I particularly recommend Psalms 30, 40, 69, 103, and 143.
God bless,

I don't know if you like southern gospel music, but Psalm 40 made me think of this one.
VERSE 1
I had gone astray
I lost my way
When I called upon His Name
Then He rescued me
Now this song I sing
What a loving God is He
CHORUS
Out of His great love
He picked me up
Set my feet on a sturdy rock
Out of His great love
I’ve learned the meaning of salvation
Out of His great love
VERSE 2
Now I shout His praise
Through all my days
For His endless mercy and grace
There’s no other one
Who has greater love
With joy I will ever say
Here are a couple of links where you can find sound clips.
Out Of His Great Love, verse 1.
Out Of His Great Love, verse 2.

| Thanks Truthseeker. I was reminded of Psalms 103 earlier this week, and will be looking up the other Psalms you mentioned too. I appreciate the encouragement.

Hi Mike,
As you are not well and also help a lot of people here with this website - as its founder and contributor of articles as well as posts, I thought of the following Psalm for you:
Psalm 41 verses 1-3
Translations differ as to the words but still apt
Blessings

Hello Mike,
First off, thank you SO MUCH for helping create this site and writing most of the articles. It's been a great help in my battle against lust and the root thereof.
I'll certainly be praying for you.
God bless,
Your brother in Christ,
John

Thanks Joel2:25, it's good to hear from you. I appreciate the prayer.
I'm still going through the valley. Prayers are appreciated for how to handle both chemical and spiritual matters, wisdom for dealing with it all by God's strength, and for increased faith. I miss being involved with the ministry.

Hello all -
My family and I continue to need prayer. I'm struggling with depression (more than before) which sometimes is accompanied by dark thoughts. 2 of my 4 kids are going through anxiety/nervousness from going back to school. My 6 year old daughter is having a hard time with even wanting to eat.
Thanks for listening.

Mike,
I can share in you pain, as I suffered from panic disorder and depresion for quite some time. Sometimes so bad I could not even leave the house for days at a time. The doctors put me on medicine which only slightly helped, and told me I would have the condition for my entire life( Im 29yrs old, was 21 then) and would never be able to stop taking the meds. I will never forget the feeling of being totally alone, even when surrounded by people. Im sure you know what I mean. It seems like nobody can help you and/or understand. Thats when I really looked to god more than ever. I realized that even when I feel totally alone, god has not left me. Well by the grace of god, 8 years later Im totally off the medication and hardly ever have panic attacks any more.. So hang in there man, miracles do happen, and god never gives up on you, just dont give up on yourself.....

Hi Bro. Mike,
I came through the blazing site when I was trying to look for some christian information about porno/sexual addiction. And by God's leading, He brought me to BG site. Honestly, I was and am so blessed with your newsletters/articles. They helped me so much. I was encouraged to go and continue to face this spiritual battle in Jesus name.
FYI, my husband is a porno addict. I feel so alone that I can not tell anybody about it. But your site and this forum helped me a lot.
I really wanted to seek your help but it was announced that you will be on temporarily on leave to attend some important matters. At that point I immediately prayed for you, your wife and your children. The Lord impressed that to me. I dont understand but the burden to pray for you was so intense that it went for several weeks.
But now that I saw this request, I am determined to pray more for you and your family.
Please allow me to share with you this point that I've read from the book of Wesley L. Duewel "Mighty Preaviling Prayer":
Plead the blood of JESUS.
Perhaps the greatest, most powerful, most answerable pleas of all is the blood of Jesus. There is no prevailing argument we can bring before God than the sufferings, blood and death of His Son. We have no merit of our own. We do not prevail by prayer techniques or past experience. There is no prayer "know how" that prevails. It is through the blood of Jesus.
Do you really understand that Jesus, the Son of God, shed His blood for you, me and our sinful world? Do you really understand how totally Satan was defeated once for all at the cross? Do you really understand the power of the plea fo the blood of Jesus before God the Father?
Just as there is no higher name in heaven or earth than the name of Jesus (Phil. 2:9-10), so there is no greater plea in heaven or earth than the blood of Jesus. It is the supreme evidence of the supreme love of the universe. It is the supreme seal of the supreme vicarious sacrifice of the universe. It is unspeakable, irresistible, all-conquering, and ever-efficacious.
Plead the blood. Pray till you have the assurance of God's will. Pray till you are gripped by the authority of the name of Jesus. Then plead the blood of Jesus. The name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus -- glory in them, stake your all on them, and use them to the glory of God and the routing of Satan.
Bring before the Father the wounds of Jesus; remind the Father of the agony in Gethsemane; recall to the FAther the strong cires of the Son of God as He prevailed for our world and for our salvation. Remind the Father of earth's darkest hour on Calvary, as the Son triumphed alone for you and me. Shout to heaven again Christ's triumphant call, " It is finished!" Plead the cross. Plead the blood. Plead them over and over again.
Said Spurgeon, "That unlocks the treasury of heaven. Many keys fit many locks, but the master key is the blood and the name of Him that died and rose again, and ever lives in heaven to save unto the uttermost.
Satan is too terrified by the blood of Jesus to offer one word of contradiction. No angel will ever argue against it. God the FAther wants to honor it, fulfill it, and glorify Himself by it. Plead the blood of the Son of God. Plead the blood shed on Calvary. Plead the blood of Jesus. Int he authority of the name of Jesus, plead the blood of Jesus!
We will be praying for your complete healing.
In Christ's Name,
Amor
