Hi all,
I hope that these verses helps you.
And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." And Simon answered, "Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets." And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord." For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him. (Luk 5:4-11)
Imagine this,
You have toiled, all night, working... and took nothing! You have done all you can, using all your experience, applying everything you have learned, yet, simply... nothing show up!
That night, it happens to Peter, all night he had worked hard, using everything he have yet for nothing. I imagine Peter that night wondering "what went wrong? is the timing wrong? is the bait rotten? why? why this time nothing at all?", he tried again, and again, and again, yet nothing!
Then Jesus came, because of the crowd, He went to Peter's boat, asked him to pull his boat a bit from the land (because the crowd is pressing Him), being tired as he was, Peter replied to His will (If I were Peter, I would think, "ah, just my day, I'm really tired, and this man had just told me to get inside this bloody boat again").
And then, came this request...
"Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.". Imagine what Peter felt, put out into the deep means extra work, because they need to sail to the middle of the lake, Maybe Peter think, "Hey! who is the fisherman around here?", "Don't you think I thought about that?", "Don't you think that I have tried?", or even the simplest question that we ask most often, "WHY NOW??? I'm too tired"
But Peter, obeyed that request.
Peter did something that he will not regret for His life. Peter casted the net, and they catched a lot of fish. What's different this time? Because Jesus told him so.
I've tried... and I've tried.... and I've tried, I've used every method I know, I read every books there is about self control, but I was still the fornicator, the adulterer, and I had continually fallen in masturbation.
Everytime I fall, I would ask God,
"Why? Why went wrong?"
"Why don't you do anything?"
"Am I beyond redemption?"
"Did God create me with extra high sexual drive so He can play me around?"
Yet, I tried again, and again, and again. I felt so tired, I even begin to think that I may never be freed until I die, and so I began to think of death. Suicide. Thank God, He saved me, in desperation I cried to God, "God, I can't!", "What else do you want??"
for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity. (Pro 24:16)
"Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."
Now, there is no holding back, do everything He told. Obey wholeheartedly, do it, NOW, no matter how tired you are, no matter how much times you've tried before. DO IT, Don't hold back, confess, cut off, throw out those collections! Smash that modem if you have to! Find help from real people, PUT OUT INTO THE DEEP!!!! WHY?
Because Jesus told you so.
Who knows? maybe this time you'll catch your fish.
And then, you'll acknowledge who you are, a sinner, you'll understand true Godly sorrow, you will fell down at His knees.
When I obey His commands, it was the sweetest moments in my life. I remember confessing to my brother, to my pastor, saying things that I have hid, but gain acceptance for who I am, now, how beautiful is that? How sweet is forgiveness?
But that's not only it...
There is a higher calling.
a fisher of men.
To follow him, and leave everything behind. Because He is the only way, there is no other way.
And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." And when they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.

when i think about the times i turn my back on God when he could of left me in my fornication left me in my intoxication.left me in my idolatry. left me in my masturbation/left me to get shoot at in the streets all alone
left me to descend to hells bottomless pit/left me to be tortured by satans fiends
but He nver left me.He was always there.jesus Christ the Man who created us.loved us even sent His angels to guide us. yet i pierce Him crucify Him over and over when i sin.
i dont deserve his grace or mercy i deserve to die i cant phantom why God would send His precious son to die for us filthy people.
yet he even ordained paradise for his children.yet millions are going to hell everyday because (pleasures of this world) sex, money, beauty vanity, power) decide this life is worth living for satan
