I know that there have been other threads about this book started, but I thought I'd put in my plug for it as well. This book made a tremendous impact on my life for good. It does a great job of explaining some of the nuts and bolts of lust and sexual addiction, while at the same time painting a vision of hope for those who are struggling.

The chapter about brokenness really busted me wide open. I learned that because of the depravity of my flesh that I may, to a certain degree, struggle with this sin for the rest of my life (until I meet Jesus and am perfected by Him). That means that I had to refocus and realize that I more than likely wasn't going to be "zapped" and suddenly struggle no more.

God has used recovery from porn addiction more than just about any other thing in my life to mature my character as a man. I have had to grow emotionally and take responsibility for myself; my emotions, thoughts, actions and desires.

Anyway...Breaking Free was an essential component in my journey. I have read through it four times over the years, three of which were in the context of a recovery group!

In Him,

John
