| I am currently working on a doctoral ministry project about the impact of online sexual activity (including internet pornography, chat rooms, net dating, cybersex, etc.) on marriage and family life. What do churches need to know about this issue? How have you experienced (or not experienced) grace through the church? I know this is a loaded post. Feel free to send me a PM, if you're more comfortable with that.

Dear PH, Welcome to our Forum.
In my experience, nothing of the above helps...
Only when I surrender to God, and when I abide in Him and Him in me, He set me free. Only when I live as what His Word taught me.
Churches need to know about the seriousness of this sin, and how God's wrath is upon those sins. I am blessed to be with brothers and sisters who took a stand on sexual sins, and have the courage (and grace) to confront me of my sins.

I don't think it's a loaded question, but it's certainly a very large one. The only things on your list (including Other) that haven't been useful for me are the 2 software options, which simply distracted me from where the real problem lay - it turns out I have a problem, but my computer is fine.
I'm not quite clear what you're looking for at this point. In 2 different incarnations on this board and on some other boards, though, I've written tens of thousands of words on my life as an addict and on my recovery so far. Perhaps there's stuff in there that you might find useful, and I'm certainly open to additional questions. I recently posted a thread on the General Discussion board here that might serve as an introduction to me and to my earliest recovery. As an Orthodox Christian, I'm something of a theological outlier on this board, though, so how useful my experience might be to Protestants, I'm not sure. My experience really consists very heavily of porn and nothing else, too; so I offer a rather narrow window on the whole spectrum of online sexual activity.
Should more conversation seem useful on further reflection, I'd be willing to consider exploring that possibility.

| For me I would have to say prayer. I have been praying to the Lord for awhile now for things to get better and he finally answered my calls a few days ago by having me find this site and being able to share my experiences, issues, and offer my support to others while gaining theirs. Also praying you get to let it out, all the built up frustration and emotion finally gets to be released.

My husband is a sweet man , when we met i was 27 , thin and pretty , he looked at no one else he was in love with me, we both wanted the same thing in Christ,
as the marriage continued , i was hurt in a bad car accident and could not seem to regain my strength, i gain weight , then we moved to the country where we bought ground to build on , i worked daily on it for i was into horses and training and raising them , in the work it made me build muscles more to that of a foot ball player , my arms built up i was not this thin patete little lady he had meant
this led his eyes to looking for a lady again, now the thing is what is a lady , in this world tv and man have depicted what a lady should look like , they have taken the woman , and used her for ads, for anything that would get attention, it has been going on for years way back when my mom was little , only they had more cloths on then , i think what needs to be attacked is the cause of the whole thing , attack commercials and shows that show nudity and obscenity, then you may start to see healing in our land from porn, say no to porn turn it off or over , i would hate to get to heaven to have the all mighty tell me, get away from me, you corrupted my children , for the use of money ,
now women have to compete , with all this , but in a christian way , it leaves us feeling out of control , this is why a lot of women do not marry or want to regain their marriage the fight of
competing is so tiring,
but it takes one person , then another ,then another, to make a majority, so we are not alone as i seen from other internet ads, Christ will turn this all around, and its nice to know he will say come on in you have tried to keep my word and keep it whole , i want to hear this more then anything from my precious Father in heaven , i want to hear well done , i was already with him for a short what seemed like ten mins, and i know his coming is soon , !i am praying for my husband and cleaning up our house , i encourage him to read the bible and he has been in the morning, not when he's tired and falls asleep , i keep sin out of our house , he tried to say i was controlling him , i said i was protecting him, when he saw it that way how can he argue, he does love me and he knows i am close to god and he tells me, if he left he would head down that street of sin,
so, if i left him i might cause his soul to be lost, i will stay in this war with him on his porn addiction , my husband will be delivered of it , in gods time , god has a step by step program, far beyond us, but i have already seen his miracles in my life and my children's life , it has not been easy but rewarding , most of all compassion, what is compassion , sympathy , love , show it time and time again , forgive ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Christ did
