Last week we did a mailing to pastors in churches all over Arizona. Included was a letter, page with porn statistics, a page showing the resources we offer, and a flyer on the From Porn to Grace conference.
This is the content of the letter that was mailed:
Greetings.
Blazing Grace, (est. 2000), is an international ministry to persons who struggle with porn and sex addiction. We work with men, wives, couples, and youth. Surveys shows that 70%+ of Christian men and 40% of Christian women are viewing pornography, putting marriages and families at risk (see the enclosed statistics). Promiscuity and other forms of sexual sin are prevalent, even accepted, among Christians. Every day in the US a pastor or ministry leader is exposed for sexual sin, pornography, or sexual abuse. We receive requests for help from men and women from age 10 to 80, including pastors.
We offer online groups for men and women, counseling, my books, a new 6-part video series that was filmed near London, England and released this year, our one-day From Porn to Grace conference, and more. The tidal wave of sexual sin that has engulfed our culture and the church is rapidly growing, with little resistance. This is the content of the porn stats that were included in the mailing:
* 75% percent of Christian men and 40% of Christian women are viewing pornography.
From a Barna 2024 survey; Porn Use Among Christians Reaches All Time High
* 2022: A pastor of a church of 1,000 in Arizona reported that 80% of the men who attended their men’s retreat confessed to a current struggle with pornography.
* 2023: When a youth group of teenage girls were asked to raise their hands if they struggled with porn, every hand went up.
* After the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020, Pornhub, the largest porn site in the world, reported that their worldwide traffic increased by 25%.
* A counseling pastor of a Colorado church of 5,000 reported that every marriage that came to him for help had pornography involved.
* 50% of pastors view porn on a regular basis. Of young Christian adults 18-24 years old, 76% actively search for porn. Many teens are sexting—either on the receiving or sending end—sexually explicit images. 62% of teens and young adults have received a sexually explicit image and 41% have sent one (usually from or to their boyfriend, girlfriend, or friend). Youth pastors (64%) confessed to struggling with porn, either currently or in the past.

Many of you know the pain, shame, confusion, and warfare involved with breaking free and healing a marriage from sexual sin. You know there are tens of thousands of other believers who are suffering with the same pain and sorrow that you did. One of the biggest holes in the church is the great need for believers to step into this battlefield and engage the fight for the hearts of God’s people.
Here are 4 simple ways that you can make a difference.
- If you would like to provide us with the website, name and mailing address of your church or a ministry, along with a person to whose attention we should send it to, we can send the mailing to them. We won’t send any mailings unless the organization can be verified online. Your name won’t be mentioned; what you see above is what they would get. This will help us get the word out and educate leadership on the size and scope of the problem in the church at large. You never know when one mailing might have an impact on many.
- Prayer. There is an intense spiritual battle surrounding sexual sin in the church. If you’ve read my newsletters or listened to the radio show you know that sexual sin and porn in the church are growing rapidly at every age group. There is a stronghold of silence, arrogance, and fear in many churches around this issue (we have seen this repeatedly). Please pray for God to move in the hearts of His people who are hurting and bring healing, shut the work of the enemy down against them, and spur believers and church leadership to action. There are also many believers whose hearts are hardened because of this sin. This battle is about healing torn marriages and helping God’s people who are in bondage; setting captives free. Pray also for covering for us and our team. Prayer is powerful; this is something all of you can do, now. Please also pray for open doors for us.
- Forward this email. Many aren’t aware of the size of the epidemic of sexual sin in the church. If you can get others to pray this will be big.
- Support us financially in our outreach efforts. We post on social media (and have to pay to boost each post), broadcast the radio show in Phoenix and Las Vegas, are continually updating the websites, travel to churches to lead conferences and speak, and do other forms of outreach such as having booths in Christian conferences, mailings, and more.
