Southern California:
I will be in Southern California the end of next week. For those who live there, let me know if you’d like to set up a meeting on helping people with porn addiction or adultery.
A meeting could be at someone’s home where you invite others, at a church or other venue, or, I could give a Sunday morning message (Sept. 29). I’m also available Friday night the 27th.
Nashville:
We have a booth at the American Association of Christian Counselors’ “Rise Up World Conference,” held October 9-12 at the Opryland Hotel, Nashville, TN. The UK:
We have a booth at the Christian Resources Exhibition trade show in the United Kingdom which is held October 15-17; held in Sandown Park, near London. Come see us at booth S60. CRE Show Management has allowed me to hold a seminar during the show, which is titled “Healing for Those Who are Hurting from Porn and Adultery” and will be held Wednesday, October 16 from 2:00-2:45, in Seminar Room 3. In the end, all of what we’re doing is about helping hurting men and women find freedom, healing, and restoration from the wreckage that porn addiction and adultery inflicts. Many of you know what it’s like to feel lost and without answers, and even ignored by the church. I received an email from one wife recently who thanked me for “being a voice for those of us who have none in the church.” I hadn’t thought of it that way before; her words emphasized how many of you feel when pastors don’t have the courage to address sexual topics head-on and provide effective answers.
We receive a steady flow of emails from people from other countries asking for help, including requests for me to come and speak. There are few effective ministries in the porn and adultery arena outside the U.S.; many are in bondage and pain. Unless God closes a door, our only restraint to going is financial – we need others who are willing to support us financially and be a sending partner. The CRE show in the U.K. alone will cost around $5,000.00; the ministry runs in the red every year, and we’re carrying a bit of debt.
This is a labor of love for me; it’s what I’m equipped to do. Money is not my motivation for doing this. Sometimes I think I’m weird; I love being around hurting people; to me this is where real life is. I don’t do well in circles where people act as if everything is wonderful while the world is charging as fast as it can to hell, and many in God’s church are trapped in bondage and sorrow. I believe God has a special place in His heart for hurting people, and enjoy being a part of His work
I want all of God’s truth, not just the pleasant parts that make me feel good. Based on the feedback we receive; many of you want the same and are tired of churches that dance around the hard issues. When I speak, I do so with urgency, clarity, and force because there is a lot at stake. Every marriage is precious to God and I hate seeing a couple torn apart. When I go to speak, I go to fight for the hearts of those who are there, as well as provide them with the tools to live as an overcomer.
